About Rocksled Sudoku
Why we made it
Sudoku is a simple, satisfying puzzle. Somewhere along the way, a lot of sudoku apps stopped being about the puzzle. The board shares the screen with banners and pop-ups, a video ad plays between puzzles, and the numbers are drawn in strange themes that look clever but are harder to read.
We made Rocksled Sudoku the other way around. It is a clean, easy-to-use sudoku, and every choice is judged by one question: does this make the puzzle easier to play?
What clean means here
- A board you can read at a glance. Large digits, clear lines, and buttons sized for a thumb.
- Colors that help. You can choose how the board looks, but every color scheme is checked so the numbers stay easy to read, and one is made for color-blind players. We don’t offer themes that look striking but cost you legibility.
- Advertising kept out of the way. The game is free. If it shows advertising or a sponsor message, it is kept to unobtrusive banners: never a pop-up, and never a video or full-screen ad between puzzles. It is never chosen by tracking you.
- Help when you want it, silence when you don’t. Hints explain the reasoning so you can learn from them, and almost everything can be switched off in Settings, including the hints, the timer and the mistake highlighting.
- Works where you are. Play in a browser on your phone, tablet or computer, install it like an app, and keep playing offline.
Your data is yours
Many free apps exist mainly to collect personal data. The game is the bait; the product is information about you: what you do, where you are, what device you use, and who you are. That data is sold or shared with advertisers and data brokers, often through a long list of partners you have never heard of.
A sudoku puzzle doesn’t need any of that. It works exactly the same without knowing who you are. And personal data is hard to take back: once it has been collected, combined with other data and passed along, you have little say in where it ends up or how it is used, long after you stopped playing. The safest data is the data nobody collected.
So we hold ourselves to a few simple rules:
- We never sell your data.
- We share your data with no one except where the game can’t run without it.
- No advertising cookies, no tracking you across other websites, and no profiles of you.
- You can play without an account. If you don’t make one, your games, settings and statistics stay on your own device.
- If you do make an account, you can delete it yourself at any time.
